A DAY TRIP ON A SUNNY DAY.
Glorious weather on Saturday so we left the still wet (from 3 extra rain rinses that caught us on the hop) laundry on the line and went for a drive... ... https://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/parkmaps/map-waitawa-regional-park.pdf
It was all new to me! Quite a few people were dangling strings in the water; some had gaffer-taped their rods to the wharf railings and adjourned for lunch...
The sunshine obliged all the way back to the house and the laundry was brought indoors to dry-off. (Isn't this exciting! 😄)
Sunday was rubbish! Cold, wet and uninspiring. Today? A repeat of Saturday's weather.
Now, I'm struggling with little camera so I'll post this and see if I can get some better images fot the next post. Please don't go away!
How does it feel to be back in New Zealand? Are you relieved?
ReplyDeleteYou could start a writing only post meme!!
Sx
Scarlet! No! that might lose the few followers I have!
DeleteOur Saturday was glorious too. Cool but sunny with no wind. Sunday and today are less inspiring. Drizzle (no useful rain) and a top temperature of 5C. I hope you get more country drives. Lots more.
ReplyDeleteBack to temperate climes with a bump! - after living in the tropics for so long, it must take some adjustment... Jx
ReplyDeleteWell, essential additions to the wardrobe, for starters!
DeleteI'm looking forward to your photos, sweetpea! xoxo
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Savvy! I think I'll have to stick to the big camera; this dopey pocket thing is beyond my comprehension! But I'll take the Canon when I go for a walk
DeleteDid you do one of the walks in Waitawa? Kōtare Loop, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteLike Savvy, I'm looking forward to photos from New Zealand!
Not that day, but maybe I'll have another opportunity. Incidentally, kotare is the Maori word for kingfisher and we did see a couple of those! And today Friday 20/06/25 is Matariki, the Maori New Year so we have a public holiday. A link which wont mean much to you in northern parts!https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/564663/what-to-know-about-matariki-and-puanga
DeleteI'm here and I won't go away, but I'll be late to the party as usual!
ReplyDeleteI'm always late to the party...even when I'm throwing it, apparently!
ReplyDeleteTah - I vanish in the haze for a few days and coming back I find you tripping, really Dinahmow !
ReplyDeleteAre the spiders there still that large ? What about flesh eating plants ? Good luck with the small camera, I am sure you'll master this. And btw, I am not going anywhere.
